Description

When the US version of Godzilla hit the screens in the late 90s the producers must have known they were making a BIG mistake - I mean, who would dare have the arrogance to take a movie icon and turn him into a big-chinned tuna-eating giant Iguana?! Hollywood of course! Anyway, this is a 'what if...' kind of pic, as Gino (Godzilla in name only)leaves Yokohama - possibly having been chased off by a couple of JGSDF soldiers waving hankies at him and going 'Boo!' Little Dragon's model is a good likeness of the monster, and works pretty well. Yokohama is a photo on a vertical plane immersed in Bryce water, and the whole thing rendered in Bryce. Now Scott, how about a really accurate 21st Century Godzilla? Thanks for looking. Iain

I watched the remake a short while ago, again. I is a grower! But the original is still the best! Especially the later films! They ROCK! Anyway, your picture is very good as well. A fine film tribute(!) Rob.

I just came across this post. I know a little late. I went to school with the person who redesigned that beast. Ricardo Delgado. I'm sure he would enjoy this scene. It has a very Ray Harryhausen feel. And Ricardo loved Harryhausen. Excellent lighting. Good color match.
