Description

This will be the last photo that I personally post of our trip to the Dells. It would've been really nice to get this without the other people in it, but it just wasn't going to happen. We only had so much time to get back to the boat, but aside from causing an issue, I just took what I could get. The feel in here between the cliffs was almost overwhelming, and had an incredible prehistoric ambiance. Dark, ominous and foreboding, with only minimal light from above trying to break through the canopy, streaking down at random striking here and there on the pathway and rock, lighting up the moss, giving it the impression that it glowed from within. This was one of the few open areas along this trail, moving back again into the near dark just up ahead. I've caused some turmoil at home, by posting photos, and causing our being here to feel more like a competition. That was not my intent, nor will I allow it to become a festering sore. I will leave the photography to my Cheri, and await my time as previously planned. Thank you much for the look, this really could've been way so much better, I apologize for that, and if you noticed,...there are tiki torches along this particular path,..making me wonder just what this might look like at or near dusk. Something perhaps for a future adventure? Hope your weekend went well! Dave

What a fabulous place! I bet it's 20 degrees cooler down in there than it is up in the parking lot. I hope everything works out okay, my friend! Hugs to you both.

I don't know what to say, I can't believe I even had those feeling go through me. I'm not normally like that. In this house the photography has always been mine. I am really sorry I reacted that way. This was a good picture. It does look like something from ancient history. It would make a good movie setting.

Ok, before this gets blown out of proportion, or out of context, please let me explain. Everything is ok, this is not my last post, just that I will not be doing photos. Between Cheri and me, photography is and has been her domain, and what I've done has become distracting, and I will not allow it to become more than that. I love her very much, and do not want to detract in any way from her life here, or with you all. She did not react badly, but knows me really well.....probably too well. I'm a very competitive person, a fact she greatly understands. When I started posting photos too, she took it as my competitive nature coming through. I always play to win, and she didn't want to have to compete. As I said earlier, that wasn't my intent, just that I saw a few shots she would've missed, wrestled the camera away,....figuratively and got the shot I wanted. It was only a couple, but a couple too many to have posted here. I ended up making her feel a bit threatened, seeing her friends comment on something I put up. There is no rift, nor will there be one. We understand that some of her friends were mine before she came aboard, and that some of those that she made first, are now also mine. We love you all, and I refuse to even consider possibly putting any of that or us in jeopardy.

This is a great shot, and it has a wonderful ambience to it. I always love moody, natural photos. You have a great eye, and yeah, people do tend to get in the way of things...but they don't detract from the overall vibe of this image! Great work! I definitely look forward to the newer entries in your gallery, whether they're photographs or within a different medium.

I love the shapes, some look so smooth that they seem to have been carved by hand and the sanded smooth! Wonderful feel again of spirit from ancient people! Curious, if you aren't doing strictly photography what will you do? Please don't feel you have to apologize for getting late to a post, that you even look is an honor for me:-)And I am late most of the time, lol!

This is very cool! If you two ever get to come to New Hampshire take a jont to the flume in Franconia, NH. It is a gorge similar to this one. Nice photo.
