Gorgeously done! I agree with the hunting style description. I tried to do just that, when I hunted. (I still can't translate "earth", except for tracks and spoor. Rain has its own feel.) It is incumbent - nay, a demand! - that any hunter make his kill swift, sure and as painless as possible.
