Description

I took this picture at the entrance to the parking lot at the Mukilteo Ferry. I didn't even know what they were, but Tara told me. It was Friday during the day, Tara had to work, and I whiled away the time watching the ferry, eat seafood at Ivars, and taking pictures of people picnicking. We used to hang out here when I was stationed here in the 60s. It wasn't as crowded then, the ferries were smaller, the restaurant was there, so was the parking lot, but there were no picnic tables. And I never noticed the rhododendron before. The weather never seemed as nice as it was this time. Often it was foggy and we just lit a fire amongst the driftwood logs and drank beer. As to the comment to my last upload. I wasn't surprised that Tara could tell where the picture was taken from, neither was I surprised that her friends (Denise and Marilyn) knew it. Today we had a high of 108F here in Phoenix(88F morning low) and yesterday it was 111F at the airport, 114.6F at my patio. It was nice to post these pictures and think about how cold it was when I took them. BTW, walk-on to the ferry for a round trip was $1.95 for seniors, a real bargain, and they take credit cards.
