Everyone at the event where this was taken was shooting with natural light for the most part but I just am not comfortable working that way so I set up an AB1600 in a 42 in. umbrella high and to camera right. Then I used a very nice Sekonic meter to set the strobe so that it was providing 60 percent of the total illumination right at her face so that the strobe would be the main, a cloudy overcast sky provided the fill, and the ratio was fairly tight but not entirely flat. Shot at F8 with a Nikon D90 and a lens operating at 200MM.
