Description
Portugal. Tomar. Buildings whose construction span the centuries are always fascinating, but I had never seen anything like the Tomar fortress/monastery. The round tower was part of the original headquarters of the Templar knights, but then it lived on, with additions in gothic, manuelin, renaissance, palladian ... an incredible architectural encyclopedia
