Description

I watched three lionesses involved in a kill one morning. After feeding, the lionesses strolled off to drink when I noticed this lady limping. She showed battle scars and a broken canine. I watched the two leading lionesses wait for her every so often while she caught up. She rested for a while and I captured this. This is life in wild Africa, but it reflects so well on our lives. The grunge for a bit of mood.

That is a nasty scar down the side of her face, and like you have said this is the real thing, the grunge effect works brilliantly!

The grunge works perfectly on this old girl Piet and the "scratches" enhance her battle scars... I love this one!!! I know how very, very close to your heart these lions are and the difficulty you are facing with the news you gave me the other day!! Let's treasure them while we still can!

outstanding image! Nature is not always kind and it is not always an easy life, for animal and human alike, but it is the way of nature. Very touching that the others waited on her. Very fine photograph and symbolism, and excellent post work, sir!
