4th. of July Tribute to a Great Nation I would like to salute all the PEOPLE who are part of this great nation,and I mean the PEOPLE,from whatever origin,race,religion or social status. Although I was born with white skin my heart has all the colors of the world. Such a great people,such a great nation,such a great potential,lets not waste it please. ……………….. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. …………………………………. While I was pondering what to do for the 4th of july,I went of course to wikipedia(my favor),and wanted to look up some facts,but I already stumbled at the beginning ,over a phrase in the constitution wich is as stated here: The opening of the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776, states as follows: “ We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. ” Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Declaration_of_Independence All men are created equal is true,although nowadays we can create men the way we want. (more equal less equal ??) Liberty?? -As soon as you give your first outcry on birth,the manipulation starts,and you get categorized and the equality and liberty so far is already down the drain. !!On the other hand I am able to shout my opinion into the internet, into the world,without beeing persecuted,that’s also liberty and I want to thank all the people who fought for this right.!!!! …………………………………… But the pursuit of happiness that’s the one I want to point at, To what extend leads the pursuit of happiness?to the results we see nowadays, The ways to achieve this happiness , pose a serious treat to liberty and freedom in my eyes and IMAO. But back to the declaration,wonderful piece of document and all the debates around, the pros the contras, very fascinating literature on wikipedia. I spend literally hours there sooo fascinated I was. PS. I spend almost the whole first of july in wikipedia articles –hehehehe - absoooooooooooooooooorbed,into the lecture,fantastic day for me. That’s also freedom and liberty. As I am not a writer,maybe this articles here don’t follow the rules of writing,or of a good structured writing. I wanted to point out solely my deep feelings for all of humanity. a litttle anecdote on the side:in 1976 i was working for Cargolux Airlines and for the 200th birthday it was the slogan We Salute USA if i remember right.

certainly a thought provoking image...Now it seems like the politicians' pursuit of happiness is overtaking the citizens' pursuit of happiness (but I am confident that everyone has said that, starting in 1777....)
