Yes, I cannot resist, I am going to call this one Eve. Hey at least I didn't super impose an apple in to the corner of the shot !?!

Used the same technique on this as the others - AB1600 with a 42in. umbrella high and to my right balanced such that the strobe accounted for 60 percent of the light falling on the subject. I am addicted to the capability of the Sekonic L-358 that provides me with that information so that within about 3 test flashes I can have the ambient / strobe ratio and the exposure nailed down. I could always check the back of the camera and get exposure in 3 shots or so, but I really love knowing what my lighting balance will be. The other thing about the meter that makes it such a powerful tool is knowing precisely what my settings should be BEFORE the model steps onto the set.

This was shot with the Nikon D90 and the low end 55-200MM DX lens. I have been keeping with the light low cost lenses as of late since I am almost always shooting with strobes but I am now thinking about how I can do more natural light balancing with a lower F stop option provided by the more expensive lenses. Balancing ambient in the shade is going to require more light in my lens or a higher ISO which I really do not like so, new lens plunge may be upon me :(
