Description

It's not very often I can say I'm proud of a picture I've taken, but this is one time, for sure, that I can!! My FIRST Fireworks attempt .. and I must say, I'm sooo very pleased! Prior to going to the fireworks display last night, I did some looking up on the internet to find out how others do it. Of course, you see all different kinds of ways... well, I wanted the RIGHT way, with no room for messing up, cause that would mean waiting another year to try this again. I REALLY wanted to do this right the first time. So guess who I dragged outta bed at 2am (African time)? :-) Yes, our very own Piet here. How many people would do that for a friend, and at that hour! We got my camera all set, and then the rest was up to me. *GULP* --- so, I owe you big time Pieter. I can't thank you enough!!! KAOYF! Hope you all had a LOVELY 4th !! Shari ***************************************************************** Thank you for your kind comments and Favs on my previous upload!!: "For Kevin Joshua .. " thumb_1910196.jpg

I totally agree with Piet. I took photos too and did my research for my type of camera. It is limited but I did what I could. I got better shots than ever before but nothing this spectacular. It might have helped if the fireworks show had been more than one or two here or there as the heavy fog rolled in over the harbor. This is shot is totally stellar and I love the presentation.

gee, that's really clear and nice! you probably already know my trick with fireworks shots - you can stack them in photoshop layers and use the "screen" mode to make fantastic new creations!

Sometimes fireworks, sometimes it doesn't. OMG, how could you do that to our Piet? It must have been really important to wake his from a deep slumber. But I digress. Ultra super stellar first time job of capturing the colors and lighting of the spectacular display contrasted against the night sky, Sharilyn! Does your camera have a fireworks setting? Mine does, but I've never had the opportunity to use it.
