Description
This is the Forrest Moon of Endor from "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi"
This is where the Empire had a shield generator protecting the construction of the 2nd Death Star, as well as mining for raw materials for the Death Star's construction. Endor was also was home of the Ewoks, the furry little spear welding teddy bear tribal guys. The Forrest Moon of Endor became pivotal point in the battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire both on land and in space.
This was done entirely in Vue. Being an experiment and exercise in environments, ecosystems, colors and contrasts more than anything else. I tend to work on a lot of pieces as exercise that are not intended to see the light of day online, but I figured I would post this one as it has been sitting around on my PC for awhile. I think this is wonderful! My brother is a Star Wars fan and flipped when he saw this. It is beautiful and very well done. I especially like the lights in this and how you have that beam of circular light with the rainbow effect on the edges almost dead center in the scene. Nice work!

I like the use of the bright sun and blue sky with the silhouettes. Tossing up coins trying to decide if the halo about the sun takes away or adds. The vegitation has a greeat realistic look to it and the sky looks like something I would expect to see in the Clone Troopers animation - it creates an contrast that I think works well.
