Description

Yesterday I showed that I couldn't grow wild flowers. We had to do something with the area in front of the house. Grass wouldn't grow just weeds. Took out a foot of the old soil and put in some good loam. Had a flagpole put in and planted regular flowers. The plants in the back corners Have been there for about four years, they were east to grow. Now for the rest so far so good. I do know about half of them will come back next year. Don't know the names of the flowers, went by color and height. I still have one more thing to do and that is to put in a small walkway to the flag, but that will be next springs project. My landlord doesn't know we did this, she lives in California and we are In Rhode Island. I sent her this picture last night. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I think the landlord will approve. We did basically the same thing in our rental house of 18 years. Only I went to a place they were tearing down an old railroad tressel and got three 12 foot long railroad ties. We bordered the front yard with the ties and filled with topsoil after laying down weedsheet. I planted the whole front in ajuga. It was beautiful.
