Description

This fascinated me immensely, as it was part of a dead tree I was once again fortunate enough to spend a stunning weekend at a private lodge. The owner is personal friends of the family, and let a group of us friends spend the weekend away. The lodge has such carvings in a few of the dead trees in the camp, which He is systematically carving. It is absolutely stunning to see.

This is stupendous! I can't say enough about the art displayed here. My great respect to the artist who carved this beautiful buffalo. If this artist is carving more of these--please post them! I am saving this photograph as one of my all-time favorite art images. It truly speaks to me. How does the artist select the carving for each tree? It would be interesting to note for art history. Nice POV/lighting/exposure here, also, (I like seeing where the art is still in-progress) which helps make this image a 10+.
