Description
I hadn't done an interior image in a while, so I wanted to do a scifi image, but I wasn't sure what to do for the lighting. I decided to do two renders, the first with a blue HDRI Image Based Light and a specular infinite light.
Then I decided to try a yellowish ambient light, so I used an orange HRDI IBL with a yellow soft spot light to the left and a specular only infinite light (as well as changed the props).
Notice how a simple light change can drastically change the mood of the scene.
Don't limit yourself to just white light. Experiment!
Now.. which do you like better, and why?

Nice image. I like the one on right the best. The lighting you used for it it makes it look more of a realistic interior scene.

That is choosing between despair and hope or cold and warm. I just depends on the story you want to tell. PErsonally I go for hope and warmth and choose ther right one. The light here more than the extra props gives the picture a better depth and this makes stronger the message of hope.

I'd say generally blue works better for sci-scenes with lots of metal/tech in them, but the yellow in her dress works much better with the lighting on the right, so I'd go for that with this scene.
