Si me voy antes que tú, sigue mis consejos de albura
pues aunque yo los haya escrito a toda prisa,
tú síguelos, sin que te importe la cruel censura,
tómalos y guárdalos, cuidándolos de toda brisa.
Mientras que tú mantengas y tengas tu sonrisa,
tendrás en tus manos y en tu alma toda la vida.
Y jamás permitas que nadie con su ajena prisa
venenosa te manipule y maneje como Ella pida.
Recuérdame como águila que aplasta la perfidia.
Conviértete en ave, mientras que tu alegría brilla.
Y mientras te encuentres en la canción perdida
y sea tu vuelo triunfal, deja que besen tu mejilla.
Cuando yo no esté, busca entre el barro y la arcilla,
porque tus manos entre esta tierra de espesura,
han de encontrar esa luz que en el fondo brilla,
haciéndote estudiarla, y entender su locura.
Y no te inmovilicen los inútiles gestos de bravura,
de aquellos que creen saber, vanos y orgullosos.
Tú ponles tu penitencia, tu alto y tu censura,
y porfiando, niégales de ti, lo más hermoso.
Como hasta ahora vas bien, sigue lo precioso,
aunque impaciente, busca en tus actos gentileza,
busca en tu mente, lo más bello y armonioso,
y desparrama con amor de tu alma, la nobleza.
Y cuando yo haya partido, atrapa el Sol lejano,
que más cerca de ti, traerá mi luz a tu cuidado.
Y así veré que mi esfuerzo no ha sido en vano,
y que en tu historia, algo de mí se ha grabado.
