January 2013
Been at this siteĆĀ five years now and have seen a lot of growth - both artistically and spiritually thanks to the many good friends I have met here. I work with Poserpro2012, photoshop CS6, PSPX2, Perfect Effects 3 and Photomatrix 4. I love working in the material room and continue to find lots of growth there. I also do a lot of postwork fixing, special affects, and framing, all forĆĀ whichĆĀ photoshop is indispensible. I love doing postwork; no image is anywhere near complete without it.
In the last year or soĆĀ I've added quite a bit of photography to my gallery. I started with a Nikon Coolpix 9100 point and shoot. It gives amazing quality and its small size makes it easy to pack around and just grab some shots as they come into my vision. I still use it for sneaky people shots but now I useĆĀ a Nikon D5100 DSLR for my more serious keeper work. Had I known how all consuming my passion for photography would become I should have jumped to a D600 low end pro camera. In my gallery you will see mostly storylines based upon my own visions and versions of Mesopotamian Mythology, sprinkled with some Celtic works and an occasional pinup or two andĆĀ quite a fewĆĀ special requests. I have long been a writer, though a terrible speller, and soĆĀ most ofĆĀ my images come with a storyline or poem. No image seems complete to me without words to accompany them.In high school I trained in both the Sciences and Fine Arts but when I went to university I had to choose one or the other and so I went with the life sciences. Art dropped out of my life for a long time... though I never gave up my interest in archeology and mythology. I wound up with a graduate degree in the life sciences with majors in physical geography, ecology and evolutionary biology. My love of nature and a deep naturalistic spirituality eventually led me to the wikkan tradition.SomeĆĀ five and a halfĆĀ years ago I discovered poser afterĆĀ coming across some great 3-d art on the web and after someĆĀ six months of stumble bum practice I joined this site.Doing this type of art has released many visions and stories that were locked up inside my soul for many ages. It has allowed me to explore the life and times of my primal spiritual ancestor, a girl also named Roxanne, who lived in the Sumerian regions. She whispers the stories of these classic legends in my mind and I create the images to go with them.My stories are mostly written as dialogue and they tend to be rather long. So grab a coffee, a teaĆĀ or better yet a beer, kick back, relaxĆĀ and stay a while.I hope you enjoy your stay here.Hugs and blessed beRoxy

Roxy your right that the full size view is a must to bring out all the details. Your first effort with a modern character in this style was brilliant

Cool character - very different from your 'norm' but that's okay. She's like an adventuress - kinda of like Lara Croft with her guns and modern attire yet with the ancient setting. Would love to know her story. Love the pose and the pov - very dramatic. Great white fingernails and outfit. Nicely done!

WOW! Roxy you never fail to amaze me when I open one of your images. You are really showing your versitality with by stepping away from the swords and midevil theme that is so much a part of your work. You have really done well with that whole 50's pulp Sci-Fi/Private Investigator look/feel. The expression you used has me a little currious though, it is more of a worried apprehinsive look rather than your normal "I am going to rip your (insert body part here) and shove it up/down (insert body orifice here)". Not complaining, please don't get me wrong, just a HUGE difference in what your image is saying. I am glad to see you posting again, as I am trying to get back in the habbit of doing so again myself. I have missed your work and our talks, my fault on the last part, and I am glad to see that you have not lost that edge and eye for detail.

SOOOO this is something totally different from what i am used from you... Look who is talking about versatility! You are so versatile 2..i like this new style..i guess i like all your styles..your works are always this high quality of lighting and vividness...and your compositions are always unique and one of a kind.. i like that very much....the camera work here is amazing... I already told you before and i keep saying it...you are so talented..and i love your creative and imaginative mind... You made Dena her skin look so beautiful here..so smooth and fresh and i love it that i can see the texture so clear on her hands/fingers and the ellbows...and yes the eyes of Isolde give Dena an intense look here..that looks great on her.. She looks stunning as a modern warrior 2!! and that hairstyle looks beautiful (reminds me of the 50ties)..the pose is very cool...WOWWW you Rox!! this is again one hell of a render! Fantastic modern work here.. Thank you Sweety for this stunning gift!! love it...my absolute fav! Hugs Val! :)
