Impressive! The spiral staircase with Sinbad about to slice the skeletal warrior is exactly posed and staged like the concept painting Harry made which led to the creation of "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad". And you say you keep losing these various competitions? If it's the same group sponsoring these contests, I can only imagine one of the judges "has it 'in' for you" for some unknown reason. Sincerely, Bill

It is based on that sketch, I just added the girl to the foreground for that 50's movie poster feel. I think my work's probably too action/comic oriented for the contests I enter - at Cornucopia3D they want to show off Vue, not Poser with Vue in the background; plus I only ever use their free stuff in their contests (you're supposed to use at least one of their products). Vue, being an environment creation software, is better used for landscape or still life. The winner's work is always very good and more - appropriate? Dignified? So I don't begrudge it. FanLib likes more artsy stuff - I don't do artsy very well - plus it's polled rather than judged. I won one contest at animtions.com back in 2002, but they've stopped offering actual prizes, so I, being the mercenary that I am, stopped entering there. My Santa pic was from a holiday contest here at Renderosity, but I feel my execution was sub-par on that pic, anyway - the competition is verra steep here in any case! I just need to keep improving.
