Description

I visited a town ("Venterskroon" = Vendor's Crown) so rich in history that I was gripped by the plight and lives of people during days of turmoil when gold was discovered. Robbers and local hangings were the two sides of the scales of justice. Many paranormal sightings had been recorded over the years where the old hanging tree stood. After spending an hour in low light in the jailhouse at the back, I could not resist reconstructing what I experienced.

Piet, you and I talked this through! It is a controversial subject but has been a stark reality at the time. I get goosebumps when I look at the image and imagine how it must have been so many years ago! You did a sterling job in re-creating the "scene" as well as the atmosphere of so many decades ago! Excellent work my friend! :)

Whoa Piet, you chased me back to the dictionary with your title...as an old English major, I realize there are many, many words out there that still are NOT in my random memory:-) So this was one of the bad guys of your "gold rush" days. Great recreation...even grunged a bit to add to the dramatic, spooky atmosphere. Cool.
