Description

I probably could have thought up a better title for this, but it pleases my warped little sense of humor that nobody will be able to say "Ducks at Dusk" out loud more than once or twice without getting it wrong. :P This is from the day Denise and I were at the Arboretum. Somehow this turned out looking darker than it really was, but this time I didn't do it! This is pretty much what I saw straight out of the camera.

Ha, it is actually easier for me to say, "Dusk at Ducks"...??? The sky is really dramatic as reflected and your two ducks just are off in their own little world:) Good one.

Hmmm, yes, that could get turned around rather embarrassingly!! Kinda like the kid I heard in a grocery store who yelled, "Mom, I wanna truck"--only he used "F's" for his "T's" and everyone around just cracked up. Mom just slunk out quietly!! Anyway, this is a peaceful, calm foto, and the deep tones just make it more so.

Wonderfully moody! I've always been fascinated by things reflected in bodies of water; it's always like you're looking into another world from wherever you're standing, and it's funny to see ducks floating past that other world. It often makes me think that if I look up, will I see giant, webbed duck-feet paddling through the clouds as this world could very well be a reflection seen in a pond or puddle in the real world. Ah, sometimes I wonder about myself. I love the light/dark components of this. There's color, but it all seems so muted, which heightens the mood fantastically! The clarity is amazing as well. This is a wonderful piece of work! I tried that "Ducks at Dusk" thing and I was able to say it aloud quite a few times, but it made me very glad I wasn't wearing dentures...they'd have flown out and beaned someone for sure!

Very nice. I like the reflection of the sky and the ripples. The ripples remind me of a poem I used to read as a kid by James W. Foley called "Drop a Pebble in the Water" It was a favorite of mine. It's a little sentimental for my taste these days but the message is good.

I like Chips idea of giant webbed feet! When I look at your photo I can hear the sounds that lakes at dusk produce, without the insect bites! Lovely.

I love the whole overall dark green tone of this; the darkness works well to accentuate the light reflecting in the water. And you got a shot I didn't get! Awesome!
