Description

Ok this subject matter is different for me. I was trying to work on mood and lighting. I went yesterday to a historic cemetary to see the old stones. I have to say they were some of the loveliest ones I have ever seen. They were grand and many ravaged by time (and people). I love history and it saddens me to see people disrespect the dead. You could tell the old cemetary from the new. I find that the old stones seem to have more class and beauty. Anyways, I plan to post more of this lovely place. I hope you will enjoy. Some postwork in Photoshop Elements3 and nik Color Efex Pro2. Thank you ever so much for the lovely comments on my last image "Mira". I truly appreciate knowing how my work is coming a long. Also, when I posted "Mira" I did not realize she was my 500th post. Thank you to tennessecowgirl and three_grrr for reminding me. And thank you to everyone who has ever commented on my images over the last 7 years. I have found encouragement, many friends, and learned much from you all. Thank you all! Have a wonderful week!

A most lovely capture. Wonderful light and stone. Look forward to seeing more of them. I agree, the older seem to have a character of their own.

Very beautiful shot! It's amazing how time ravages things and yet there can still be a beauty to it.

I love the old parts of cemetaries. The tombstones and the statuary are so much more beautiful then today's work. But the ornateness would be so expensive today, and I don't even think there are any left who could sculpt something like this out of stone. A beautiful little cherub, wonderful mossy growth on it, making it so much more aesthetic, I think. Wonderfully captured Beth!
