Description

Dennis Baily's beautiful refitted Enterprise mesh, and his great texture work inspired me to do another render with it. This time a down view as she passes over the north polar cap of a superjovian planet, avoiding the worst part of its massive radiation belts. You can see an energetic auroral display on the nightside above the pole. Rendered in Lightwave 8.5, with post in Photoshop. Thanks for taking a look! -Tom

Trek has been my fave for 40 years. Thank you. (We host a site of trek-fic - with, of course, lots of poser art!)

Interesting POV. I don't recall any images from that angle, and it is striking.

Circles within circles within circles - a very cool composition, if a perilous orbit. I really like the light here, even though it does look like there's two sources. A tightly orbiting binary pair - problem solved! The planet and ring detail is fabulous and DB's Enterprise model looks great. If only it were TOS :) Overall it's a very neat piece - almost as nice as the one of yours that hangs in my living room :D

Fantastic picture. This version of the Enterprise is the one I like least, but this picture is dynamite. Good job!
