Description

The salt marsh is the end of a long road to the mouth of the Carmel river in California. Maybe this old wagon will ossify for some future archaeologist. The longest journey begins with a step. It was a cool 62 degrees in Carmel, and 40 degrees warmer just a few miles inland, so the updraft pulled the fog in shreds. Nikon D70 with 105 mm lens.

One of the most-photographed derelict vehicles in the Golden State, I'll warrant. The tree intruding to the right helps this compo immensely; I can't say why.
