Description

This is one of those renders that I've started and stopped and started and stopped again over the years. This year I started and vowed to not stop until it was done. It was originally targeted for Father's Day, but a month late is better than not at all. Two days ago I received word from Mom that Dad's oncologist had decided no more chemotherapy. He's been battling bone cancer for nearly three years and prolonged his life as long as possible. He's had enough. He is, as he told Mom, tired. My parents were raised in rural Southern Illinois near a little town called Wayne City. Last I checked the population was about 1500. The stories of his youth are for the ages. I'm placing this about 1946-47. Dad told me once that they didn't make many cars during WWII due to rationing, the war effort, etc. I figure anyone driving a 1936 Chevy would not be out of place. The female owner of the car, like almost everyone else, is just a figment of my imagination. The only "non" figments are my Dad and my Grandpa Staggs in the background, playing checkers. Poser World: Apollo's bib overalls, shirt and shoes. Foldable Table: Corban_yl - Freestuff Straw-chair - Jean C - Freestuff Daz3D - the usual suspects
