My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

So much of this speaks to me, touches my very soul. I loved hearing it and I love reading it--beautiful words, beautifully written, bittersweet thoughts....

I can only echo Beachzz. You wrote so clever words, Tara. Deeply touching and very wise. Thank you for sharing this.

Wonderfully written :)

That pretty much strikes true for me. Simply swap the roles of "he" and "she" in my case. Stirred some emotion and recalled some memories........

Very familiar words, brought forth memories of my own growing 'pains', dreams lost but knowledge gained. Wonderful writing Tara!

It is like it was written in the Sand and speaks of the Sands of time. Nice!!

powerful & inward piece on love and the illusions that come with it. You tell a story in many of your poems, and yet they're poetry and not prose. And you've taken us through her growth from being with someone to being a bigger person in his absence; and then you gently shift to him, as he fails to see that he was something separate of her as well...and your ending simply asks, "does he see he's looking to the wrong place for the love he misses..." Very poignant, tenderly written, and your lines are as always expressive in and of themselves. A gentle story in a poem, with much about everyone. Sensitively felt & written, Tara, as always...

Makes me quite introspective in a good way.

Your writings touch me like no other and I wish I could explain to you exactly what I mean by that, but it is hard to put into words. But when I am reading what you have written I am just drawn in to the story and the wisdom that you impart to us is so profound. You have a real gift with your writing. I think you should publish and I'll be first in line for an autographed copy.

This is astonishing! So perceptive! This is also the perfect medium, kind of what Harlan Ellison once described as "Quick skirmish writing" where you get in, make your point, then stand back and feel the intensity of it warming everything within a 2 light year radius. How often people make the same mistake, remembering love as a mind thing, rather than a heart thing, and how often it leaves wo/men in utter desolate ruin. This is gorgeously written and gently, compassionately perceptive.

Very vivid piece, auntietk! So many people could do well by learning the lesson in this piece.

A truly outstanding comparison of two perceptions of the same experience. Strange how we are all capable of feeling either side of that one. Odd how we never know which one will surface. Its almost like we never learn from our experience...

This is all so wonderfully true, and I'm sure the roles are seldom reversed. Statistics prove that the suicide rate for men is so much greater than women, upon the ending of a relationship. I long thought that it was because generally, women will have let go mentally long before they actually announce the decision. I think now, that there is more truth in your words as to why this might be. Mostly because I was him, searching in the wrong direction, it is so easy to become lost then.....and finding one's way back, so very difficult!

I marvel how your writings touch my heart, in so many ways. And tomorrow, rereading this same poem, I will be touched in another way. Sometimes good – sometimes haunting. This is true of most of your work. Oh and all beneficial. Dana
