Description

This was my entry to the June/July 2009 edition of the Terrain Challenge. I herewith won the 3rd place together with arthez. Congrats to arthez and to AndyWelder (1st place) and to Rich2 (2nd place).

Really gorgeous. Has an Arizona or Dakota's landscape feel but those yellow colors make it clearly off- worldly. Love the subtle red stream washes of the alluvial fans creating a slight diverisity to what would be a monotonous landscape in real life. Can see why this one was a winner.

Since you traveled all the way to the planet Mars to get this shot, you should have gotten first place for this amazing capture, with its fantastic lighting effects and arid ambiance.
