Description

I always loved sunsets - I mean who doesn't really - but now I love to have an excuse to go and work with them.

Nikon D90 24mm exposed at f22 1/640, 1/200, and 1/2500, then composited in Photoshop via Photomatix HDR software.

I am now doing auto bracketing of the exposers to ensure that minimal movement of the image elements occurs between the shots. I lock everything down onto an oversized tripod and use the 2 sec timer delay set for a 3 shot sequence to further reduce the chance of movement in the image. Before speeding up this shooting sequence I was very surprised how quickly clouds can move in the space of 20 seconds - thereby complicating my compositing and making some shots impossible to realize.
