Description

This as the latin name suggests is a marvelous Eagle, native of Africa I wonder what Native Americans would have thought of this Eagle had it been native to the American lands.. It certainly reminds me of Sitting Bull with that head feather display. The scientific name comes from either the Greek word teras, meaning a meteor, or teratos, which is a marvel; opos is Greek for appearance; and the Latin word ecaudatus means to lack a tail and refers to the bird’s short tail.

Extremely impressive looking eagle! The black feathers give the appearnce of the bird wearing a headdress. Where do you find all these birds seemingly free of cages, etc.?

Magnificent capture Danny, you are an inspiration! Jeff and I went over to Fleetwood today "Tram Sunday". Thay had a variety of vehicles cars and trucks, motor bikes. you name it and it was there lol. We found a tent with some beautiful Owls and a Eagle, so we took most of our shots there hoping to get a cracker like this!

I can see Setting Bull with the way his feathers stand up looks a little like native American headdress. Awesome eagle and capture, don't remember seeing one before.
