My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

A splendid and diverse array of color, blends, hues, tints and textures to greet these tired old eyes! What a fabulous macro of the esoteric iris taken with your Konica Minolta DiMage Z3! Simply stellar. But a Z3? That's the same as I have. I thought yours was a model Z6.

the title makes perfect sense to me, it has the feel of a big flower-tiger, with a gaping jaw; and it captures the feel of the poem (by Blake). But it's also one of your flower portraits where you reveal the cavernous journey into the heart of a flower which, as every Georgia O'Keeffe lover knows, is a journey into the heart of the universe. (I assume you know O'Keefe's flowers, but if you don't, I'll send some. They're cosmic.) Flowers are, after all, the sexual organ of the plant kingdom, and when you consider the allure of procreation, what could be more astonishing than the beauteous mysteries of a flower's petals & stamens? You've captured them in all your flower shots; and here, in the characteristic coloring and undulations of the petals, in that red 'carpeting' (the stamens I presume)—your composition makes it a real invitation to the viewer—and in the deep chasm it leads to. Sumptuous & mysterious. Terrific shot.
