Description
Captured 4/4/09, at the semibeautiful Chino Planes of Fame Museum in the semibeautiful Chino Airport in semibeautiful Chino, California.
Better viewed full size.
The last posting of this short Hellcat miniseries -- much to the delighted relief of many of the lady viewers. I couldn't let these pics go to waste, you know!
The Hellcat with wings folded for easy storage on an aircraft carrier or in a hanger, this one a Royal Navy version with two different roundels.
Just some more shots of the hardy and heavy duty aircraft as I circumnavigated about it. Various POVs are always good.
Extensive information on the Hellcat can be found in yesterday's posting.
Tallyho, and toodles.

I flunked out of drivers training in high school. I know sad huh, don't tell anyone.. haha but I was actually in the hospital so that was the reason I missed too many days, so I had to take it over in summer school, well I lucked out my teacher was a pilot and a few of us lucky ones with our parents permission got to go up in his plane, and it was awesome to see my town from above especially to fly over the set where the series Little House on the Prairie was filmed a great memory, and I finally passed the course haha. Nice collage!

I really didn't know that airplanes could fold their wings...makes them a little less frightening to me, isn't that sad? Anyways, lovely shots, Harry!

If I was responsible for painting this Hellcat, I'd be bursting my buttons right now! The name reminds me of something else...my father-in-law served his entire WWII time in the 12th Armored Division, the "Hellcats". First rate collage Harry for all those reasons we know so well:-)

This is just SO great! I love it and the 'twisted wreak' view on the 3rd picture down, gives a real idea of the brains that went into designing Navel aircraft then... Those folding wings.....! Great! Rob. And that Kubelwagen still lurks!

another shot of sheen & sweep & power, different angles this time. Yes, with structures this large and varied, many views are truly nice. It's like architecture, one view only gives us a glimpse. It's also nice to see the tail close-up, it seems so simple & quaint, compared to the monstrosity of the whole unit. More fine airplane work from you.
