Description

Chow time for these giraffes in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve here in South Africa that is... The meal they are enjoying are leaves from a young acacia tree - their favourite snack!!! These guys were part of a herd of 9-10 giraffes. They were on both sides of the road and were just very peacefully chowing away and criss-crossing the road right in front of us. It was magic... I shot off an obscene amount of images! Once again, I chose this one as it shows a bit of the surroundings! I know several people on numerous photos have used the word luck or lucky. I wince when I hear it because I see and know the preparation that you go to, your visualization of what the photo's outcome will be, and your patience! Even when a scene is developing instantaniously your instints take over. Is that luck..no. Lucky to live in a country where there are national reserves, ok I will buy that, however you being in any country in the world would have you producing fantastic photos from the local area!!! Love the photo...love the photographer!!
