Funny story...

I got this new lens two days ago, the Nikon 80-200 F2.8, and yesterday morning I had just picked up my camera with the lens attached when 3 of these hawks fly in and landed on this fence about 20 feet off the window of the room I was standing in. I thought wow check them out, then realized I was holding a magnificent zoom lens especially given the dim early morning light. I shot a few pics of the 3 of them and slowly opened the window to get a better shot when 2 of them flew off leaving this one to pose for my new lens and the open window and screen.

The lens should be and probably will be magnificent but this particular copy has horrible Chromatic Aberration right in the middle at anything under F8. Not noticed here since there is nothing particularly white in the image so I am without the lens until they send a different one sometime next week.

So most ironic that these birds posed for me on the only morning that I will be in possession of the lens I needed to photograph them.
