Description
They had traveled far and hopefully their journey was nearly at an end. The dreams of the elder were becoming more fitful with the passing season and the clan was frightened. The life of the elder was the life of the clan, and so Ghwora and his mate had been chosen to follow the elder's dream and hopefully find the answer.
Guided by the dream their journey took them over the mountains and down into the wooded valleys beyond. The elder spoke of a forgotten alter and a talisman... and a guardian spirit. But where would they find it? At the edge of a deep forest the came across a small camp. There a human female sat at her fire, tending it and chanting while watching the bright flames. She was not surprised to see them. She knew they would come. She knew their names. She was a Mystic and told them she too had had the dreams and she would take them to the alter.
The mystic told them to leave their gear behind. The forest was untamed and dangerous, but without their belongings the two Varg would resemble their wild cousins and the spirit guarding the alter deep inside may not take notice of them. Ghwora's fur pricked as they entered the woods. The Varg lived on the praries. To be so closed in and not able to see the horizons, not able to see danger... it filled him with unease. And this human. He had never met one before and stories of them usually ended in blood. Steeling his senses Ghwora followed the Mystic. His snowy mate seemed more calm as the mystic lead the way into the dark woods, but he could smell her fear. He knew, though as she did, they must continue. They had come so far, they had no choice.
They would have to trust this human....
