My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I like it. I'm just not sure how to describe what I like:) Sometimes, you just get a feel for a thing, don't you agree? With layers of color...you are never sure what is going to show up until you put it all together. The before and the after both look good. Apologize for being so wishy-washy tonight. LOL

I like this a lot! It's always so much fun to play around with stuff, experimenting and all of that. I love the colors in these, and the "after" shots are well done. I didn't think it was post-work, just another side of pots, with cracks in them. Great work. And remember..."Always look on the bright side of life" <--insert whistle.

I like what you did with the effect. Looks great:)

lol...for me the whole idea is a subject looks "nothing" so I have a free hand to see what I want to see and let my creative mind running mad. The original pretty good already and you spiced up with some crackles on the right...good job Tara.
Faemike55
Excellent images both before and after postwork!
whaleman
At first I thought they were cooking pots and I thought "What on earth has she been cooking in them?" Then I realized they were earthenware pots, and now I'm even more mystified. This certainly is creative though!

Now you are putting me in a pickle girlfriend... The original pots look fantastic... and the "treated" pots... well, different yet gorgeous in their own way... Yeah - I have just decided I actually love both - equally!! Excellent work you have done here Tara... Ek mis jou en hoop ons kan praat! Druk en soen! :)

Fantastic textures and superb postwork. Excellent work!!
Gwynhale
A great looking experiment, I like the closed crop, but with the postwork you could go even further. It is not a wedding photo, it is not supposed to "look like something" :) Photos/fractals/3D renders are just raw material, free your imagination!

Can I just take these home--I love them!!
DreamersWish
Well I love the colors on both. I would not say it looks like grunge, but more of a weathered look (of course that is just me). Well done!
Katraz
Nice work the worked on one looks just like a pot I have that's been outside for too many winters.
durleybeachbum
Fascinating! I'm not keen on the worked ones because, I suppose, the old potter in me would be disappointed that the crazing was so extensive so early in the pots life!! If you are interested, the top glaze is called Chun. and the colouring comes from copper. The bottom one is an iron-rich glaze called Tenmoku.
helanker
I can only love both of them, but i find the one to the right so darn interesting with the cracks. A wonderful image in all. FAV !

What would we ever do without Photoshop. I love this too, and yes, I know what you mean by loving the thumbnail more .. but the full sized is beautiful too Tara.. :)

please continue what you usually do, as you always come up with beautiful art.

Photographic abstraction is the label if you need one; however does it really matter? Both beautiful treatments. Agree with Gwynhale - to go further, think of this as convergent media - printed out on handmade paper or really funky like metal. Cheers, beautiful outcome.
lucindawind
fabulous effects and work .. !
Sea_Dog
Both images are very well done. I like the added character of the After one, personally.

Nice... I like it a lot. Lovely texture, conjures up all kinds of ideas for backdrops and texture work in 3D.
