Description

Spirit Eagle Sacred messenger Flying strong and solitary Surviving and soaring Taking us beyond our fears Carrying our dreams To the Universe. Credits: Another in my 'Spirit of the Wild'series, paying tribute to the strength and spirit of the endangered Bald Eagle. I do not want to imagine a world without the beauty and presence of these magnificent creatures. They have taught me that with survival comes strength, and courage, which makes all things possible. Created in Photoshop CS, using a photo, painting techniques, Birds of Prey by jaguarwoman, blended with a background by pixels29. Special thanks to my friend, Ilona Krijgsman, for the use of her exquisite eagle photo. Hope you enjoy. CC

I've been offline for a few days, but it was just a matter of time before I got here...Your images, Carol, so often have such a wealth of detail and 'defined presences'; yet you combine them with such mysteries and 'subtle' presences...you get both worlds in the same image, and it's always beautiful. Here, your vision of the eagle is bold & visionary, with the strength it symbolizes. (One of the shamans I knew spoke of the "eagles of our natures" and spoke of making ourselves "worthy of its powers"...) The Native American symbols are here, and symbols of the SW, and there even appears to be some snow, maybe symbolizing the eagle's high retreats...and it's permeated by subtle veils of light & dark and hints of branches and presences and stars and spirits, and what looks like an animal skin and the whispers of trees. It's another of your layered visions, and it's strong and sumptuous, and the violet night-sky makes it feel like something out of a vision quest. More fine & deeply layered work from you, and a great pleasure. Hope you're having a fine summer.
