Description

I imported the M3 head....worked and poly-painted it....and added the rest in ZBrush....Postwork in Photoshop. Many years in the future....A warrior ponders on the toll taken and loss of innocence in times of War....Maybe he remembers old tales from centuries past....and the words of "Harry Patch" ...... Harry Patch passed away 3 days ago......He was the last surviving Veteran here in the UK that had fought in the First World War 1914-1918...After the war Harry spent the rest of his working life as a Plumber....he retired almost 30 years ago..... Harry was 111 years old when he died....he never spoke of his experiences during the War until he was 100 yrs old....and during that time he never watched a "War Movie". When Harry was interviewed he was asked about his First World War experiences. Question...."What was it like Harry?" Answer...."It was a controlled & calculated slaughter of Human Beings" Question.....Was it justified? Answer......NO!! Human nature hasn't really changed much since Day 1.....So I suppose there will always be those that carry the burden........Respect!! Thanks for viewing.

Awesome pic. The emotion on the face indicates reflection and sorrow. Thanks for sharing both the pic and the story of Harry Patch.

Fantastic work Jeff, you captured the 1000 meter stare into the past superbly. Those that have been there rarely speak of it it's just something you live with. Peace

Indeed. Thanks for the story of Harry Patch. The most dangerous idea is perhaps that there are things worth dying for. Harry says no.

A super dedication to Harry, he deserves to be recognised. I saw him on TV the other day. I love your depiction of him.
