Description

Mundane subject, but I like the way it turned out. It was taken through the car windshield. The title is from a Monty Python song, which always gives me the giggles, when it comes up on my ipod. I always sing (if I'm alone) loudly and enthusiastically along. It has very simple, commonplace words, but sung in such a droll way as to be hysterical.

I like traffic-lights...I like traffic lights...I...like traffic lights...That tune is stuck in my head as well. It was from their "Contractual Obligation Album" wasn't it? Or am I mis-remembering, as I often do? At any rate, I like traffic lights too...although my name's not Bamber...I love that little bit of wonkiness at the end, such a desperate grab at some word that rhymes with amber, and well...that's the part that really makes me bust a gut. Some songs are just like that. I like this shot a lot, it really does work. The reds in it are what make it for me, there's a kind of mood-continuity in it; that and the fact that it's a traffic light and a Shell station...this is pure "modern age" photography that attains a different, non-mundane sort of artistry. I like this a lot!
