Description
"In 2164 after the Romulan wars, Admiral Jonathan Archer heard about a possible sighting of the starship Columbia, commanded by his friend and lover, Captain Erica Hernandez, which disappeared prior to the Romulan wars. Archer boards the destroyer, the Eldridge, to follow up on this sighting. During the mission, the Eldridge encounters an energy ribbon with massive gravimetric and temporal distortions which entraps the destroyer.
To escape, the chief engineer ‘dumps’ the ships matter and antimatter fuel into the ship’s antimatter reactor, overcharging the warp drive to escape the energy ribbon, destroying the engineering section. When the ship drops out of warp more than 40 lightyears away, the strain of the overcharge begins to break up the ship, and the crew has no choice but to abandon the ship.
Admiral archer with his trusty sidekick, Porthos, and 48 others managed to escape the Eldridge before it broke up, but what little do they know is that the energy ribbon suspended them in time for more than 72 years, in the year of 2236. They were then rescued by the Federation starship USS Kelvin, 3 weeks before its fatal encounter with the Narada.
Admiral Archer, Porthos, and 44 of the Eldridge survivors were among the 800 lives saved by Lt. George Kirk."
An idea as to how they could have had an Admiral Archer in Star Trek 11, and how Scotty could lose Porthos in his transwarp transporter experiment.
