Nice Pic! I like the laser effect. I see you did the same as me, and didn't bother with the ripple map, over the top of colour map on the White Star. I use Imagine, and I couldn't find any way of easily adding the Rippled map that comes with the Lightwave version. About the only thing I can think of doing, is combining the brushes. Keep it up!
