Description

After having been giving close examination of several rock and stone shaders provided by the nice folks at Planetside and using that knowledge along with a couple of TU's stone shaders I have arrived at this scene. I am not very good with all the 'Fractal Breakup' nodes yet and I am unhappy with my flat rocks and the distant mountain rockface, but never-the-less, I am still learning and having fun on my personally built New Vista 64 bit QuadCore computer that I put together from the remnants of my burned up 3.2GHz Dual Core. As always Thanks So Much for your viewing!!! Thelby

Maybe you can translate that odd language you used about your new computer!! All I know about mine is "off", "on", "delete", and "omg, oh no, I LOST that file"! But--this is amazing, as real and lifelike as you can get; you're learning some pretty good stuff, and obviously having a great time as well!!

Very good image. The ground and stones are photorealistic in my eyes. The plants look a bit like CGI, especially the big one on the left of the image. The small version really looked like a photo to me, the plants only look a little bit fake in the full resolution version. Anyway, a great image. Very well done, impressive work.

Hey Mark, those stones look very good in this scene. Up high on the desert mountains, you don't get a lot of setting or moving water; thus, you wont get the roundness as you do in a river bed. This entire scene is a real winner! I'd like to see you post it in the forum. This is anther one of your best!
