And so it was ...that not so long ago...dragons filled the skies...soaring amongst the clouds...content to leave man and his doings alone...each in their own world... but it is the downfall of man that those that seek ultimate power should be envious of the creatures that soared majestically above them...so in their ignorance they sent forth knights to slay these creatures...butchering their young....killing the old when they fought to defend their own... Though fearsome and powerful...they were no match for the brutality of man and his cunning traps...their numbers dwindled...few remained to dance among the cloud...seething and rot with pain they searched out kingdoms to slaughter...growing ever more bitter and older still...they were the last ...and they would soon die...but they will have their day ..before it is through... She could feel the heat of his breath …the rancid smell of her own hair starting to burn filled her nostrils…she knew the end was near…her struggle had been in vain … in shear exhaustion she slumped down awaiting her fate…the only thing holding her up were the chains that bound her to the tree as it had so many others…darkness took her as the beast’s roar echoed in her ears….
