Description
Strathconan,Scotland .30 July. A day of heavy down pours followed by bright intervals. I was on a project to record the site of an old settlement which has almost gone. Under the ferns were some rubble stones indicating where the crofts once stood.
Strathconan was a stronghold of illegal whisky production, the excise men needed a miltary escort to visit and were often stoned by the women. Small casks of whisky were smuggled out of the glen under womens clothing disguised as pregnancy bumps !
A bit more detail when zoomed in.
