Description
Before NX-2000, there was a Constitution Class USS Excelsior commanded by Captain Geoffrey Hunter. This ship is from the Starfleet Technical Manual, but has been modified to be an interrim design between the original series and Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

It's also a 'toast' that Stan Lee used all the time when closing his bullpen bulletins in Marvel Comics. I always think of that when I see Sulu's ship, LOL! -- Ken
