Description

More pots from Wight's Nursery. The title was inspired by the song by Kenny Wayne Shepherd. I found an acoustic version here if you're unfamiliar with the tune. Great blues!

I won't lie to you, I really like this...the colors, textures, shadows, crop. See what happens when you send me to YouTube? I had to listen to Blue on Black and then Johnnie Lang's follow-on tune, Lie To Me. :-) Great upload.

well you already know I love this shot too, it's another of your pot portraits that captures several worlds in a small space, and juxtaposes them beautifully. The blue against the deep green is itself beautiful; but also the textures, the lights, the spread of the patterns on the back pot, and the side of the back pot which, from a certain pov, looks like a wooden pole of some type. (I thought of that a lot when I looked at it this weekend.) Simple but very eloquent, and so typical of what you do with these eloquent beasts, using with your dramatic crops and your always scintillating light. Great artists don't do still lifes of exceptional objects, they made common objects exceptional, and that's what you do with these kinds of pictures. Beautiful, another piece I couldn't stop looking at as soon as you posted it. A universe.
