Description

In a junior college photo class, a young man, let's call him "Emo," was given the assignment to do a "unique" portrait. He bribed his platonic female friend from the skate park with a soy latte and they were off to the woods. He stuck some wings on her back. She suggested a wand and tiara, but he forgot to bring them. Then, camera in hand, he told her to get melodramatic. After making a print, his work came up for group criticism. He was exceedingly pleased with himself, and described his photo as "ironic." The photo instructor shook his head and sighed (and not because he was old and a loser who didn't know Art when he saw it). It turns out, the only thing ironic about this composition is that every emo kid in every photo class in every junior college has done the exact same picture. SO, BE DIFFERENT, JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE! By the way, in real life, the emos thought I was insane for photographing a doll head on a scale. Go figure. The tattoos are postwork. I am having fun with my Japanese dictionary... *snort*
