Description
This is one of the biggest male lions I have ever seen. It is obviously a White Lion (specially bred) and his head and mane are HUGE!!! The sad thing is that he was so terribly lazy and wouldn't move. He was just lying there like a statue and I had to wait for a long, long time for the brief moments when he managed to open his eyes at least a little before I could push the shutter... LOL... Well, he is the king - so I thought I would rather say nothing... *grin*
Hope you all had a great weekend! Ours here in Johannesburg was miserable and cold... It rained most of the time - ice rain... Yikes!!!

You're not kidding about the size. I can see his head and neck are massive. I love the full face in the light. Beign a white lion, it really brings great contrast into this. Too bad he is not more active... maybe he needs a lady in his life to give him a "honey do..." list. Works in my house. LOL

Good heavens, I believe you've done it, Carin....this photo is far and above the category of stellar! Terrific lighting and textural effects in the majestic pose the king adopted to satisfy your pictoral needs, my friend! The males of the species are so lazy, leaving the hunting and dirty work to the females. For shame! Incidentally, the royal highness needs a haircut.
