I am an Australian figurative artist and art teacher who has become engrossed in digital art of all kinds.
As a secondary art teacher, it has become essential to keep up with the times so that my students can benefit from what the computer can offer. Hence my addiction.
I have been a member here since late 2006 but only started to exhibit my work at the end of April this year, having been inspired by all the fabulous art and artists here.
In Australia we are fortunate to have a system of "long service leave" which allows us to take leave after some years of service. I have done this and have spent that time continuing my learning in modelling 3D scenes.
I use two 19 inch monitors on my computer and cannot imagine life without them. I recommend every artist to try out how helpful it is to have access to all that space for your work, email and programs. If I had room on my desk,I would have three.
For a number of years My husband and I were heavily involved in dancesport; feathers, glitter, blood sweat and tears, but somehow a great outlet for another artistic side. Having now retired from dance competition, I have returned to my passion as a springboard diving coach. I have had a number of Australian champions and even had one of my divers go on to the Australian Institute of sport. She went on to win a gold medal on platform at the Athens Olympics. That was a real moment in time!
My other interests are many. First my family of four girls and two stepsons, and being an active member of the YService organisation which is a support group for the YMCA. Travelling is my other passion and I have travelled extensively in Europe and the US. I am looking forward to another trip to the US next year.
I now have recently retired from teaching and I am looking forward to many hours of learning new things in this new (to me) form of art hat is happening.
Here at Renderosity, I feel at home with like-minded people, all with so much greater talent than I can ever hope for, but who are so generous and supportive.
Thank you all so much.............

Excellent work! Great posing and props! is that a Ginsu knife in his left hand? If so, then he's the cook and is telling everyone that they WILL like dinner, judging by his stance

Aha, Jim Lad, let's keelhaul the parrot! Aha, aha (and more piratical noises offstage from the crew - fifteen men on a dead man's chest. Obviously well soaked in rum ...)
