My newest one i am working on ... the Hangar for the 2260 series. Stay tuned. (the Vanguard ship is from DAZ, just use it as a reference to ensure the best sizes ...)

Don't forget the retractable boarding ramps/walkways! Looks good so far. Walkways/ramps can be parented props, or different material zones if not figure groups. A blast baffle like at airports behind the shuttles would make it look more realistic,too.

This does look good already ,another ship to try it with, a bit larger,and if you have it that is ,is the LCV shuttle by davo from Powerfusion 3D .Also I agree with JG on his comments ,with perhaps as well fuelling /maintenance accesways and connectors.Unfortunately when it comes out,looks it will have to go on wish list for now as RL's been very un-nice to me .

Thanks for the tips! I guess i will make it modular, so you can simply stick a part in the middle and therewith alter the size.
