Normally, something like this is considered graffiti, but not here in Skagway, Alaska. For decades, visiting passenger liners left their calling card in the form of these rock paintings along the pier. Its actually pretty interesting and informative. Cruise ships do it in the Med as well... More often on the dock walls or floors though... So, I swing both ways on it... was there no dock? But it is a tradition... Rob.

I found this very interesting, in Washington state in the Cascade Mountains you see alot of 'art' on the rocks too. One of the areas they do it in is famous for huge rock slides, that would deter me, lol! Great shot!
