Description

It seems that a comment that I made in private has upset a person enough that He/She have deleted their entire gallery.. For this I apologize to everyone.. This person appeared to Be a well respected individual in the Renderosity community.. The work in the gallery whilst small in number was large in quality.. I made a statement in private to this person.. something that He/She had stated quite publicly it was quite acceptable to critcise.. Since I believe that criticism is a fundamental part of the learning process I am quite confused as to where to go from here.. If I stop commenting. I probably get no comments Myself.. Quid pro Quo... If I turn comments off. I lose valuable insight into other opinions.. Both ways we all lose. Since I will be having a short vacation next week, no comments from me until I return.. Since everybody loses because of My Privately stated opinion.. I sincerely apologize to everybody Publicly.. Great day to all.. Have fun..

I think that sounds quite rediculus, but that has happend to me aswell. After I commented on a picture in the old bryce.com days the frequent user stoped posting, it was a constructive and not evil comment. I think there is to little constructive critizism here at Renderosity. Feels often that people just type "Nice, beutiful" to every picture and hope to get comments themself. The lighting and composition is great, if you created the ship it's awsome. Sky is special. Other than that I think there is to little going on, no people on the ship, no island in the horizon and no seagul in the sky ect.

A nice Bryce render. Some people are overly sensitive. Deleting a image because of constructive comments is a bit of an over kill.

Noel, maybe you were not the only reason the person left RR. You do not have a crystal ball into that life and problems. Spacer 01 said it all. The first thing I thought upon seeing the this image was "Ghost Ship". No crew, barely moving seas, and a sky that says "magic".

First of all, great scene with nice use of atmosphere and light. As far as poorly received comments, you are not responsible for the actions of others, nor can you anticipate someone's behavior subsequent to your statements. If your remarks were made respectfully, without malice, with the intention of providing insight or assistance, then you have done your part. If the recipient responds with fear or intimidation, then perhaps they should not have been posting work on this site in the first place.
