Description
I've stepped away from science fiction for a bit to do a more fanciful image - the flying island of Laputa from the novel "Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World, in Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of several Ships." I was going to have Gulliver standing on the rocks in the foreground, but I'm not proficient in making Poser clothing, and I couldn't find the correct style of 18th century clothing for download anywhere. Postwork was getting rid of some rendering artifacts in the palm trees and minor color correction.
Critical comments are welcomed as I don't really consider this image "finished" and I could use some suggestions :-)

The floating island is superb!! If I had to be critical about anything it would be the foreground rocks look a little smooth in texture which makes it difficult (for me) to gage the scale. Overall, I really like this image a lot :)

I can't offer any suggestions, but I can say that I really like the image! Very nice, indeed! I've never read the book, but it makes me want to. This reminds me of the heli-carrier in the movie "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow".
